You can't believe how slow these MLB games are now. Don't look at the final score when it was 9-6. It took 2 hours to play the first 4 or so innings when there was very little scoring. Max Scherzer is the slowest pitcher in creation. Acts like he is going to throw the ball and then just stands there. It's not a balk. He just does it to irritate the batter. I remember when games took about 2 hours and twenty minutes. People can't stay in their seats. They constantly get up to use the bathrooms or get food. I don't blame them. Most fans are bored out of their minds. This can't go on. You can't have 4 hour, 9 inning games.

Hmmm… Long now? Haven’t the games on average been a tad shorter the past couple seasons due to rule changes to speed up the game?

Or you mean long now compared to the 1970s?

Driver ( Ping G425 Max ) - 4 wood (Sim 2 Max 3HL)- 7-wood ( Callaway Rogue ST Max)

....easy peasy

I was going to games in the 70's. How is 4 hours acceptable for a 9 inning game. Phillies game the other day was 3 hours and 15 minutes. I have seen these games go longer and longer. I guess with the DH in the National League now we can expect every game to last as long as Yankees games.

You are obviously a young guy cause us fellows in our 60's gave up on baseball ten years ago. That's why baseball has been #4 in spectator sports for years. Don't just go by attendance unless you want to ignore all of the kids who are bored before the game even starts. A dying sport.

If the ball isn't thrown in the time allotted and it is due to the pitcher delaying the pitch it should be an automatic ball. If the batter keeps stepping out while the pitcher is ready call it a strike. This wouldn't be necessary if players played like they did in the first 80 years of the Twentieth Century. I hate all these gimmicks to change the game. Baseball was always traditional and unlike other sports it stayed the same.

I actually don't mind the long games...I get more annoyed at the thing's that shorten the game like those placed runners in extras or only having 7 innings in double headers...
